Cadillac Escalade: The Choice of Thieves!

If you are wondering how a car thief selects his victim then this article is for you.

What does a thief want? Well, of course, they will primarily be concerned with vehicles that are easy to steal. This goes for old vehicles with obsolete auto parts – particularly alarm systems. These are easy target. However the payoff is low. I think thieves will opt to risk dismantling a more modern car if it is worth the payoff. That is why I agree with KCRA news when they said “many [thieves] seek out vehicles that will allow them to ride in style” (2008).

Case and point: The Cadillac Escalade.

The culture of the millennium is all about hip-hop, urban, Justin Timberlake, etc, etc. No vehicle represents this better than the Cadillac Escalade. I love it!

According to the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) an automobile is stolen in the United States every 25 seconds. In effect, this costs American consumers $8.6B annually. Yes, BILLION.

After over a decade in the market, the Cadillac Escalade is one of the most popular Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) in the market. As a consequence, it also ranks at among the top choices for auto theft. In fact, the Cadillac Escalade has the highest rate of insurance theft claims than any other luxury vehicle.

The Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI) gathers statistics on auto theft. According to HLDI’s list of “Top Most Stolen Vehicles”, the Cadillac Escalade EXT is the most stolen luxury vehicle in the United States. Furthermore, four versions of the Cadillac Escalade ranked among the top five of greatest insurance losses due to theft.

The Escalade is followed by the BMW 7 series sedan and the Mercedes Benz S-class sedan.

Moral of the story: If you own a high-class vehicle, I suggest you be prepared. Nowadays, it is easy to get a hold of the latest car alarm technologies at your nearest auto retailer. If you’re lazy, like I am, then browse through the internet. Discount auto parts are available at the click of a dot. Get your sedan the new door locks if it is necessary. Get your pickup new truck accessories to enhance its safety system. Don’t risk it! Remember the 25 second statistic every time you park your vehicle.

That easy.

Beck gets booked!

We have all avidly followed David Beckham’s migration to America. Everything from dinner dates with Victoria Beckham a.k.a. “Posh Spice” to rehabilitation footages of his ankle sprain has been covered by the media.

Last Thursday, Beck proved that he ain’t the best in “taking corners” after all. The LA Galaxy forward took the wrong corner and earned himself a ticker from the Los Angeles Police Department.

The English star, who recently got his 100th cap in Paris last month, was pulled over after taking a left turn in a right turn only intersection. Beckham, 32 was cruising in his Cadillac Escalade in the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue at West Hollywood.

Beckham complied with all necessary sanctions of the violation, displaying his patience that has made him renowned in the soccer universe. The ticker was equivalent to £45. But the star remained calm. Then again, he is the world’s highest paid football player, grossing an unparalleled £25million last year.

The Cadillac Escalade is only one of Beck’s vehicles in his large pantry of a garage. He also has all sorts of sports cars and sedans filled with the latest car parts and truck accessories. He is just simply… Beck!

So for all of us regular Joes, let us not aspire to get anywhere near Beck. But we can sure have the best cars around – better than beck even. If you’re interested in “Souping” up your vehicle check the discount auto parts section of partsbin.com.

Its good service. I can promise you that.

The Latest Cadillac Escalade Review: a star-studded SUV

The Cadillac Escalade has made a strong impression as the vehicle of choice for the Hollywood’s elite. The SUV has been embraced in hip-hop culture since its 1997 debut. Rappers saw this car as the vehicular equivalent of massive gold neck chains and medallions (“Bling, bling”).

While these hip hop stars have rarely confessed environmental concerns, the recent spikes in fuel prices have definitely affected some SUV owners. “Sales have taken a steep dive” confesses Jim Gorzelany of AOL auto, he continues, “Escalade sales plummeted 49 percent in October 2005 and were off by 13 percent through the first ten months of the year. General Motors is hoping a fresh fleet of full-size sport utility vehicles that it's rushing to market (it was last revised for 2002), combined with a retreat in fuel prices, will help invigorate that segment's sales slump and the Escalade's fortunes.”

Cadillac has made a conscious effort to reconcile these losses by enhancing the car parts of the SUV. Modifications have been made in the following:

  • Exterior styling
  • Interior cabin features
  • Smoother shifts for better fuel-economy
  • Ride and handle are improved by a better frame
  • Incorporates the latest gizmos: rain sensing wipers, heat washers, Dolby surround, etc.

For those who are interested:

Buy this vehicle if you need a full-size SUV for heavy loads. Buy it if you need an SUV that you can work with and also brings a sense of style plus luxury. If you’re concerned about fuel efficiency, then you have no choice but to sacrifice style. Get an old-fashioned pickup and get some truck accessories like hood latches and luggage tools. This way you can increase working capacity.

But if you still want the Escalade, you can but fuel-efficiency products in any discount auto parts store. This will definitely help, but it will also incur added costs.

Like what they say, it ain’t easy being a star. They probably meant it ain’t cheap.

Kenan Thompson in a close encounter of a Potty kind

We all know Kenan Thompson from his adolescent years in Nickelodeon’s Kenan & Kel. He also starred in a movie for the Kid network. Recently, his successes have included starring roles in the movie Fat Albert and the renowned improvisation comedy show Saturday Night Live. However, more recently the star was involved in a much controversial predicament.

Last week, Kenan Thompson was reported by an anonymous citizen to the cops when he was seen erratically driving a white Cadillac Escalade. When an officer pulled the SUV over, he detected the odor of burnt marijuana. The cop questioned to whom the vehicle belonged. At which point, Kenan’s friend Kyle Mosley surrendered a pack of marijuana. The cops searched the car parts. The Smoking Gun reports, “A subsequent police search recovered two small baggies of marijuana and a pack of rolling papers in Mosley's pockets. The 39-year-old Long Beach, N.Y. resident claimed ‘sole ownership’ of the pot, said Lt. Stephen Elder in an e-mail to TSG.”

Thompson was charged with reckless driving and Mosey was arrested for possession of pot and other drug paraphernalia. This incident occurred on South Finley Avenue in Bernards Township, which is about 40 miles west of New York.

These Hollywood stars do grow up faster than we all expect. Marijuana from an ex- Nickelodeon star, Kenan should be ashamed.

But his White Escalade looked nice though. Still, I wouldn’t hesitate to take him to a Discount Auto Parts chain to soup it up. Get some parts, specs, truck accessories or what not. With modifications, maybe next time he gets pulled over he can out run the cops.

Drive like the Godfather!

For all you TV series addicts out there, you’ve probably encountered the HBO TV series hit The Sopranos. The series revolves around a dysfunctional mafia family. It’s a fresh look at how we view mafia characters, it shows weakness and daily travails that you wouldn’t think mafia families encounter.

Recently, automobiles from the TV series were auctioned off at West Palm Beach. Over 600 celebrity automobiles were on sale. Net proceeds were donated to the children’s hospital at Los Angeles. The auction was headlined by the signature piece from The Sopranos series: the white, 2003 Cadillac Escalade driven by mob boss Tony Soprano. The car features standard car parts of any 2003 Escalade, except it gives additional “mafia” appeal.

Other vehicles include the champagne 2003 Cadillac CTS used by Paulie Walnuts, a red 1997 Mercury Villager minivan driven by Tony and Paulie and a black Cadillac Deville driven by crew member Vito Spatafore.

Of course, it was not like buying truck accessories in a discount auto parts chain. Tickets were sold at a reasonable $8 to $18 price range. It was a treat for all who were in attendance.

Britney’s Escalade Escape

If you think Britney Spears has been taking a hiatus from controversy. Think again.

Last weekend, Britney, or “Brit” as they call her, was disposing $1500 worth of shopping money. Last Friday afternoon she was spotted at the Beverly Center, browsing through a cheap selection from Forever 21 and Claire’s accessories.

When she saw the paparazzi, Brit apparently ran for the back door at the shopping center. Minutes later, Brit was seen in her black Escalade escaping the media. Sources claim that Brit’s Escalade ran a red light. She got pulled over by the cops. At which point, E-online narrates, one of Brit's bodyguards opened a car door and shouted out to the officer, "Sir, it's going to be a mess, you sure you want to stop us?"

The cop looked behind the Escalade and saw a barrage of reporters trailing the Escalade. The cop let her off with a warning. Brit has had her fair share of happy-endings as of late (In her own Brit kind-of-way).

Oops. She did it again.

For Escalade owners interested in interested in discount auto parts, car parts or even truck accessories checkout Partsbin.com. Who knows? Maybe if you set your SUV up like Britney's, cops might let you off on warnings too.

The Cadillac Escalade Ranks #1

Based on a poll that included 52 leading automotive reviews and test drives, the 2008 Cadillac Escalade ranks number one among nine in large luxury Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs).

The SUV has received a tremendous amount of praise from the media. The Detroit free press calls the Escalade, “the sexiest full-size SUV on the market,” and adds “it hits a bull’s eye in such important areas as horsepower and cabin design.” The New York Times maintained that the Escalade “rides on a stronger and stiffer chassis and affords added sophistication, comfort and performance.” Car and Driver magazine commented, “If you like your bling on a grand scale, it doesn’t get much grander than this.” In addition to this, the Cadillac Escalade has also received numerous awards of recognition. The 2007 Escalade was named the best new American car by Forbes. Business Week ranked Cadillac as the best automotive company in terms of customer service.

The poll was based on the following criteria: Performance, Exterior, Interior, Safety and Reliability. It was based on a scale of 1-10. The Escalade gathered an average score of 8.9 – which is classified as very good. Here is how the Escalade faired (Courtesy of USnews):

Escalade Performance - 8.4 (Very Good)

Test drivers find the 2008 Cadillac Escalade car parts to be an able performer that offers a smooth ride, V8 power and handling in line with its size. Motor Week says the Escalade offers a "driving experience that's as close to a premium luxury sedan as any SUV we've ever tried."

Escalade Exterior - 9.3 (Excellent)

While the Escalade is known for its over-the-top styling, many writers believe the Escalade's 2007 redesign takes the SUV into more elegant territory. But it's still an Escalade.

What is important is it meets aesthetic standards – nay – it elevates aesthetic standards. Nobody complains of how the Escalade looks like. Its looks far from a dump truck stuffed with truck parts, if you know what I mean.

Escalade Interior - 8.6 (Very Good)

The luxurious and spacious interior of the 2008 Cadillac Escalade receives mostly favorable reviews. With the seating for up to eight people and a host of luxury features standard, the Escalade can transport a crowd in comfort and style.

Escalade Safety - 9.8 (Excellent)

The safety system was not built from some discount auto parts. This SUV offers state-of-the-art safety features. The 2008 Cadillac Escalade does very well in federal government crash tests. It also offers safety features similar to others in its class.

Escalade Reliability - NA

U.S. News is still compiling reliability data on the 2008 Cadillac Escalade. The Escalade comes with GM's new 10-year/100,000-mile transferable powertrain warranty, which matches the warranty of many imports and lasts longer than those of the typical luxury cars.

All and all there seems to be nothing but greener pastures for our loved SUV.
